K2 Base Camp, Concordia & Gondogoro La Trek

The great trek. Twenty-one days from Islamabad to the foot of K2 and back over the Gondogoro La — the most celebrated long walk in the Karakoram, and one of the finest anywhere. From Askole, the last village, the route follows the Braldu river and the Baltoro glacier through a corridor of granite cathedrals: Trango Towers, Muztagh Tower, Masherbrum. At Concordia, four of the world's fourteen 8,000-metre peaks stand within a single turn of the head, and the trail continues to K2 base camp itself. The return crosses the 5,585-metre Gondogoro La — fixed ropes, a pre-dawn start, and the widest mountain view of your life. Full expedition support: porters, cook team, licensed high-altitude guide, all permits and NOC fees. This is a demanding trek for fit, acclimatised walkers; our planners will talk honestly with you about preparation before anything is confirmed.

Trip overview

This is our most-loved introduction to the north. You'll trek the gentle trail into Fairy Meadows for sunrise on Nanga Parbat, then follow the Karakoram Highway to Hunza for Baltit Fort, Attabad Lake, and the road to the Khunjerab Pass.

Small group, private transport, and time built in to slow down, with local guides who grew up in these valleys.
