Shahkot Stupa
The Shah Kot archaeological site is located in the Haripur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
It is an important site that dates from the 1st to 5th century CE, making it part of the historic period of South Asian archaeology. The site measures approximately 107x66x3 meters, with exposed structures visible in many places across its surface. Archaeological surveys have uncovered potshards scattered throughout the area, which provide insights into the cultural and material aspects of the time. Despite its significance, the site is currently privately owned and is not legally protected. A preliminary report on the archaeological survey of Haripur district, conducted between 2007 and 2008, was published in Pakistan Heritage, Vol II, 2010, by Hazara University. The report, authored by Ihsan Ali and others, provides an overview of the site and its potential historical importance. This site represents a part of Pakistan's rich archaeological heritage, and it adds to the understanding of early settlements in the region. However, it remains unprotected, which could pose challenges for its preservation and further study
