Retreat to Skardu Valley
Skardu at a slow pace, which is the correct pace. Six days built around one valley: a day for Shigar — the 400-year-old fort-palace, the wood-carved mosques, the apricot lanes — a day trip onto the Deosai plateau (July to September), among the highest plains on Earth, and a day for the lakes and viewpoints closer to town: Satpara, Kachura, the Katpana dunes. A buffer morning is deliberately left unplanned; in Baltistan the weather decides some things, and a good itinerary admits it. Nights at K2 Hotel by GreenPak, the valley's natural base. A journey for travellers who would rather know one place well than pass through five.

Trip overview
This is our most-loved introduction to the north. You'll trek the gentle trail into Fairy Meadows for sunrise on Nanga Parbat, then follow the Karakoram Highway to Hunza for Baltit Fort, Attabad Lake, and the road to the Khunjerab Pass.
Small group, private transport, and time built in to slow down, with local guides who grew up in these valleys.
