About Fort Munro
Fort Munro is a hill station at about 1,970 m in the Sulaiman range, in Dera Ghazi Khan District on the Punjab-Balochistan border. The British developed it in the late 19th century as a cool retreat from the plains around Dera Ghazi Khan.

Above the plains
At nearly 2,000 m, Fort Munro offers what the Derajat plains cannot in summer: cool air, hills and long views. Plan it as a stay rather than a single stop, with Dera Ghazi Khan as the road gateway.
Dera Ghazi Khan
Dera Ghazi Khan is the headquarters of its district and division, west of the Indus. Near it, the Sakhi Sarwar area holds a gurdwara where tradition says Guru Nanak stayed.
