Chatpat Stupa
The Chatpat archaeological site is located in Lower Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, and dates back to the 1st to 5th Century CE.
The site features a large stupa and a monastery, including various small cells and votive stupas. The site covers an area of 30 x 20 x 2 meters. It was excavated and published by Ahmed Hassan Dani, a renowned historian. Despite its historical significance, the site is privately owned and is currently not protected under legal status. The findings of the site were documented in "A Survey of Lower Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa" (2005), published in the Pakistan Heritage journal in 2010.

Current Condition
The Chatpat Stupa in Lower Dir is an unprotected but archaeologically significant site, with excavated Buddhist artifacts now housed in the Chakdara Museum, leaving the in- situ remains vulnerable to neglect and looting. While researchers value its Gandhara-era structures, the absence of active conservation by the KP Directorate of Archaeology & Museums underscores the need for formal protection and stabilization efforts.
