The old dharamsala in Dharmakhel village was demolished and a new building put up in its place. It serves as a primary school and no longer looks like a place of worship.

History

The village called Dharmakhel is very close to Bannu City. It is three kilometers from the bus stand of Bannu city. The village is located on Kohat road just across the river. This shrine is situated in a narrow street on the right hand just after the entrance to the village. Once it used to be the centre of Sikh Sangat of Bannu city. A new building has been erected after demolishing the old one. It is at present being used as a Primary school. It does not appear as a Dharamsala but wears the look of an ordinary school. The local people call it Dharamsala wala school.

Planning tip

Best Time to Visit, November to February. Bannu's June afternoons pass 40 °C, while January nights fall to about 2 °C. The old dharamsala was pulled down and rebuilt as a primary school, locally the 'Dharamsala wala school', so there is no historic building left to see.

Getting there, Dharmakhel village is 3 km from Bannu bus stand, across the river on the Kohat road; the school is in a narrow street on the right just after the village entrance.
