Gurdwara Patti Sahib, Nankana Sahib
Where the young Nanak studied with his teachers and composed the Patti in Rag Asa.
Nanak was sent here to learn Hindi from Pandit Gopal Das and Sanskrit from Pandit Brij Lal, and later Persian from Maulana Qutbuddin; tradition says his tutors bowed to his understanding.

History
The sacred shrine is close to Gurdwara Balila and this is the site where First Patshah Guru Nanak Ji was sent to learn Hindi from Pandit Gopal Das and then to learn Sanskrit from Pandit Brij Lal. He was sent to Maulana Qutbuddin of Talwandi to learn Arabic and Persian at the age of thirteen. His worldly tutors had to bow their heads before Jagat Guru's brilliant intellect, spiritual knowledge and broad mind. Guru Ji composed this bani called Patti in "Asa Rag" to remove the suspicion and to break the pride of pandit.

Best Time to Visit, November to March, taking in the cluster of Nankana Sahib shrines on foot. Patti Sahib, where Guru Nanak is said to have studied, is next to Gurdwara Balila; November, around the birth anniversary, is the busiest time.
