Hopar Glacier, Nagar
Hopar (also spelled Hoper) is a cluster of villages in a natural bowl in the Nagar valley, reached by a short side road off the main Hunza-Nagar route. It sits at the foot of the Bualtar Glacier, one of the largest in the region, with the glacier's ice and moraine visible a short walk from the last village.

Burushaski-speaking farming communities work the terraced fields here, and the valley is also the gateway to Rush Lake, a high-altitude lake popular with trekkers.

Ice Beside the Fields
What makes Hopar distinctive is the contrast: green terraces and stone farmhouses give way within a short walk to the grey ice and rubble of the Bualtar Glacier. It is one of the more accessible glacier views in the Karakoram, no trekking permit or long approach required.
