Islamgarh Fort
Islamgarh Fort, a 1665 Rajput fort in the Cholistan Desert, renamed in 1780.
Islamgarh Fort stands in the Cholistan Desert of southern Punjab. It was built in 1665 by Rawal Bhim Singh, the Rajput ruler of Jaisalmer, and called Bhimwar. In 1780 it was taken by Ikhtiar Khan, who renamed it Islamgarh and built a mosque inside; it later passed to the Nawabs of Bahawalpur.
