Kamar Sar Site
The early Buddhist site at Kamar Sar, accessible via the Shop rang to Kamar route, is part of the rich Gandharan heritage landscape.
Situated in a hilly region, the site once likely featured a small stupa or monastic compound used by traveling monks. Its elevated position at nearly 1400 meters would have offered seclusion, making it ideal for meditation and spiritual practice. The presence of structural remains indicates religious activity, possibly from the early Kushan period. Unfortunately, the site has suffered from looting and vandalism over time. Like many similar locations, it remains unguarded and has not been formally excavated. Despite this, it retains historical significance as part of early Buddhist expansion in the region.

Current Condition
The site at Kamar Sar remains heavily damaged from looting and vandalism, with no protective measures or conservation efforts in place. It has not undergone any formal archaeological excavation and is completely unguarded. Due to its unrecognized status, it does not fall under the direct management of any government or archaeological department. Its preservation is neglected, leaving it vulnerable to further degradation.
