At Satghara in Okara district stands the tomb of Mir Chakar Rind, also called Chakar-e-Azam. Inside it is octagonal, 8.2 metres across, with walls 2.4 metres thick and 4-metre arches at two levels. It still stands 9.1 metres high, but the single dome has fallen. It is built of thin baked bricks in mud mortar, and was once finished in lime plaster, traces of which remain.

History

Mir Chakar Khan Rind was a 15th–16th-century Baloch chieftain, born at Ashal in Makran, who is remembered as a folk hero in the Baloch epic of Hani and Sheh Mureed. He settled at Satghara in his last years and is buried here.
