The Hushe Trekking Circuit

The Charakusa Valley trek offers one of Pakistan's finest non-technical mountain experiences, Laila Peak, K6, K7, and the Charakusa Glacier combine into a 4-6 day route from Hushe with dramatic views at almost every camp.

Photography and Wilderness

Laila Peak's symmetry makes it exceptional for photography. Golden hour on the east face, visible from the trek approach, is a standout moment. The valley is remote enough that wildlife including ibex and Himalayan brown bear are occasional sightings.

Planning tip

When to go, May to September; the Hushe Valley trailhead is reachable from Skardu year-round.

Getting there, Drive Skardu to Khaplu to Hushe village (3-4 hours), then begin the Charakusa Valley trek. Laila Peak Base Camp is reached in 2-3 days.

Allow, 2-3 days to base camp; 4-6 weeks for a climbing expedition.
