Sudheran Jo Thul
The Sudheran-jo-Thul site, located in Taluka Mula Katyar, District Tando Muhammad Khan, Sindh, is an archaeological site with a stupa made from mud clay and mud bricks.
Excavations indicate the site dates back to the 1st century BC to 2nd century AD, associated with Buddhist culture. It was first reported by Mr. Frere in 1857 and later studied by historians like Cousins and Raverty. Artifacts such as painted pottery, terracotta figurines, and animal depictions were found, indicating cultural ties to both Buddhist and Arab periods. In 2020, the site faced severe degradation due to illegal excavation and theft. Urgent preservation measures, including repairs and guarding, were recommended. Further scientific excavation and analysis are needed to fully understand its history.
