Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar
Sehwan Sharif's great Sufi festival, three days of dhamaal drumming and devotion at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
The annual Urs commemorates the 13th-century Sufi saint Lal Shahbaz Qalandar at his red-domed shrine in Sehwan. Hundreds of thousands of devotees gather for ecstatic dhamaal drumming and dance, qawwali, and night-long devotion.

- Held in the Islamic month of Sha'ban, so the Gregorian date shifts each year, confirm before booking.
- Getting there
- Sehwan Sharif is reached by road from Karachi or Hyderabad (allow several hours). Crowds are immense during the Urs, travel and stay must be arranged well ahead.

What to expect
The Urs is intense and deeply devotional, the rhythmic dhamaal before the shrine draws enormous crowds. It is a religious occasion first; dress modestly, follow your guide, and respect the rituals.
