Alhamra Arts Council, Lahore
Alhamra on the Mall, Lahore: Nayyar Ali Dada's arts complex, completed in 1992, the city's main stage for theatre, music and art.
Alhamra, the Lahore Arts Council, is the city's main venue for theatre, music and exhibitions, on the old Mall (Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam). The complex was designed by the architect Nayyar Ali Dada.

History
The Arts Council was given the site soon after independence but for years staged its performances outdoors. Nayyar Ali Dada's 1,000-seat auditorium was completed in 1979, and three further phases followed, finishing the complex in 1992.
