Baghsar Lake & Fort
A small mountain lake at about 975m in Samahni Valley, watched over by a historic stone fort linked to Afghan, Sikh, and Dogra rule, and local tradition of Emperor Jahangir's final journey.
Baghsar combines two things AJK rarely presents in the same frame: still water below and a substantial historic fort above. The lake extends for roughly half a kilometre through the surrounding green landscape, creating a quiet foreground to the heavier stone architecture on the ridge. The fort has witnessed several phases of regional history and is associated with the eras of Afghan, Sikh, and Dogra power; local tradition also connects the area with Mughal Emperor Jahangir's final journey from Kashmir.
