Greater Iqbal Park spreads over 329 acres beside Lahore's Walled City, with Minar-e-Pakistan at its centre. It is the ground where the Lahore Resolution was adopted in 1940, and Lahore Fort, Badshahi Mosque, Hazuri Bagh and Ranjit Singh's samadhi all stand next to it.

About
Besides the minar, the park holds the tomb of Hafeez Jalandhari, who wrote the words of the national anthem, a four-acre lake with an 800-foot musical fountain, a two-kilometre soft rail, a library, an open-air gym and a food court. The park took its present form after renovation work finished in December 2016.
History
The ground was a parade ground under the Mughals and again under the Sikhs, who called it the Parade Ground. After the British took Lahore in 1849 it became Minto Park, named after Lord Minto, Governor-General of India from 1807 to 1813. After 1947 it was renamed Iqbal Park after the poet Muhammad Iqbal, in memory of the Lahore Resolution of 1940, and became Greater Iqbal Park after its 2015–2016 renovation.
