Haram of Talpur Mirs
This simple but impressive building inside the Pucca Fort of Talpur period, was built in 1784 during the reign of Mir Fateh Ali Talpur, it consists of a rectangular room with verandah facing south.
The room is situated on the first floor and its interior is adorned with floral, geometrical fresco and life scenes, also known as Painted Chamber. The ceiling consists of wooden girders and lacquer work. The exterior of the chamber and the platform bear traces of fresco treatment.

History
The Talpurs were Baloch generals in Kalhora service who took power for themselves in 1783 and governed Sindh from within this fort. Their rule ended at the battle of Miani in 1843, when Charles Napier's forces defeated the Mirs and annexed Sindh to British India.
Historical Significance
One of the few surviving domestic interiors of a South Asian ruling house of this period, inside the fort from which Sindh was governed for sixty years.

Planning tip
Best Time to Visit, October to March. Hyderabad is very hot from April onwards.
Getting there, Hyderabad is roughly 160 km from Karachi on the M-9 motorway. The Pucca Fort monuments sit together in the old city and are walkable as one visit.
Allow, Two to three hours for the Pucca Fort complex; a half day including the Talpur and Kalhora tombs.
