A restored merchant mansion in old Hyderabad, its carved limestone facade and wrought-iron balconies now housing a museum of the city's pre-Partition life.
Mukhi House sits in old Hyderabad, a merchant mansion of carved limestone with wrought-iron balconies, arched windows, and Corinthian columns running up its front. Built by the Mukhi family before Partition and restored in recent decades, it now works as a museum of the city's earlier life, and it stands as one of the best-preserved pieces of Hyderabad's pre-1947 domestic architecture.

Hyderabad Before Partition
The house survives from a period when Hyderabad's merchant families built substantially and ornately, and much of that fabric has since been lost. Its restoration makes it one of the few places to see that architecture intact and open.
