Kanjut Sar rises between the Shimshal Valley and the Hispar Valley in the Karakoram. At 7,760 metres it is the 28th-highest mountain in the world. Kanjut is the old name of Hunza and 'sar' means peak in Burushaski. Kanjut Sar I was first climbed in 1959 by Camillo Pellissier of an Italian expedition.
