Tattapani

Natural sulphur-rich hot springs rising beside the Poonch River about 26km from Kotli, where naturally heated water meets the river's cold flow.

Tattapani literally means "hot water," and the name explains the attraction. Naturally heated spring water emerges close to the cold flow of the Poonch River, creating one of southern AJK's most unusual natural stops. Local communities have long used the springs for bathing, and basic bathing facilities have been developed around the site over time — the contrast is strongest in winter, when cool river air and hot spring water make the experience far more comfortable than during the intense heat of southern AJK's summer.

Hot Water Beside a Cold River

Treat Tattapani as a natural and cultural experience rather than a spa resort; facilities are simple and standards can vary. Visit for the landscape, the warmth, and a tradition that has drawn people here for generations.

Plan It with GreenPak
