Babusar Polo Cup & Alpine Festival
High-altitude polo and alpine culture where the Kaghan valley meets Gilgit-Baltistan, golden poplars and the last open pass roads.
The Babusar Polo Cup brings teams and spectators to the pass above Naran when weather allows. Folk music, camping, and autumn colour on the Kunhar side make it a bridge between Kaghan and GB itineraries.
- High pass polo
- Alpine camping
- Autumn colour
- Kaghan gateway
- When to plan
- Usually August before early snow; confirm pass status and festival dates each year.
- Getting there
- Drive from Naran over Babusar Top, base at GreenPak Riverfront Naran and allow acclimatisation before the pass day.
Pass conditions
Babusar closes with the first serious snow, the festival only runs when the road is open. Build buffer days and check live road status.
Kaghan loop
Pair the cup with Saiful Malook, Lulusar, and a descent toward Chilas or return to Islamabad through the Kaghan valley.
