Gilgit-Baltistan
Skardu's cold-desert jeep rally and cultural festival, motorsport, Balti music, polo, and sword dance among the dunes.
Staged on the Sarfaranga cold desert near Shigar and Skardu, this is one of Gilgit-Baltistan's flagship adventure-and-culture events, combining a jeep rally with Balti music, polo, sword dance, local food, and adventure sports against a backdrop of dunes and snow peaks.
The rally roars across the world's highest cold desert, but the festival around it, polo, dance, and Balti food, is what makes it a cultural experience as much as a motorsport one.
Base in Skardu and pair the festival with Shigar Fort, Upper Kachura Lake, and the Deosai plateau for a complete Baltistan trip.
