Christmas in Pakistan
Midnight services, carols and lit-up churches: Christmas with Pakistan's Christian communities, at Lahore's cathedral, Karachi's Christ Church and across Punjab.
Pakistan's Christians, the largest number of them in Punjab, celebrate Christmas on 25 December, which is also Quaid-e-Azam Day and a public holiday. Churches are decorated and lit, midnight masses and services are held, and carol singers go from house to house in the Christian neighbourhoods of Lahore, Karachi and the Punjab towns. The Cathedral Church of the Resurrection in Lahore and Christ Church in Karachi hold some of the best-known services.
