Gulabi Bagh Gateway
The Gulabi Bagh gateway in Begumpura, Lahore: the tiled Mughal entrance to a lost pleasure garden, beside the tomb of Dai Anga.
In Begumpura, just outside the Walled City of Lahore, stands the gateway of the Gulabi Bagh, the Rose Garden. It is known for its rich, bright mosaic tilework and fine calligraphy on plaster. The garden it opened onto, one of the many Mughal pleasure gardens of Lahore, has gone, but the gateway survives beside the tomb of Dai Anga.

History
The garden was laid out by Mirza Sultan Baig, a Persian noble who was Amir-ul-Bahr (admiral) under Shah Jahan. The tomb of Dai Anga, the wet-nurse of Shah Jahan, was later built within it, and the complex is now known by both names.
