Kaini Bayan Temples, Kotli
Four 18th–19th-century Hindu temples by a stream among green hills near Kaini Bayan village, Kotli, with lotus domes and painted arches.
Four temples stand together on the bank of a small stream about 4 km east of the village of Kaini Bayan in Kotli district, among mountains, fields and lush vegetation. The largest is octagonal, built of grey stone with pinkish lime plaster, and is crowned by a round dome carved with inverted lotus petals and a lotus finial. Inside, eight curved arches are painted with floral designs, and niches either side of the entrance once held oil lamps. The complex dates from the 18th–19th century and is protected under the Azad Jammu and Kashmir antiquities law.
