Pallandri
A compact hill town at about 1,372m and the administrative centre of Sudhnuti District, surrounded by green ridges above the Azad Pattan corridor.
Pallandri is one of AJK's understated district capitals. It lacks a single headline attraction, but its position makes it a useful base for exploring the central hills between Rawalakot, Kotli, and the Jhelum. The town sits among rounded green mountains rather than high alpine terrain, giving it a longer travel season and making it particularly suitable for road trips focused on regional culture, viewpoints, and lesser-known heritage.

More Than a Transit Stop
Most travellers pass through this part of AJK on the way somewhere else. Staying in Pallandri changes that perspective — the surrounding district contains historic sites, small hill settlements, and routes toward Tararkhal and the Poonch country.
