The Khanqah-e-Mualla at Tutkhor, on the left bank of the Shigar stream, was built by Sayyed Mir Yahya; the date 1023 AH (1614 CE) is carved above one of its doors. Its prayer hall, 15.4 metres square, rests on six massive pillars and is crowned by a drum with a tapering dome and finial. Two side wings hold six cells on each side on the ground floor and women's galleries above, a high veranda leads into the hall from the east, with small towers for the call to prayer at its corners, and fine balconies project from the western wall. It is famous across Gilgit-Baltistan for its carved woodwork.
