Lowari Pass
Lowari Pass (3,118 m), the lowest pass into Chitral, crossing the Hindu Raj from Upper Dir.
Lowari Top, at about 10,230 feet, crosses the Hindu Raj between Upper Dir and Chitral and is by far the lowest way into the Chitral valley; the other passes are 12,000 to 15,000 feet. It is the shortest route from Chitral to Peshawar. Heavy snow closes the pass to vehicles from late November to late May, and avalanches are a real danger.
