About
Gakhar families lived on the hill before 1947; in 1960–61 they were moved to make way for a park for the new capital. The Capital Development Authority is replanting it with native species such as pine, replacing paper mulberry, which causes pollen allergies in spring. The Rose and Jasmine Garden, the Pakistan Museum of Natural History and Lok Virsa are all nearby.
