Sheosar Lake lies at 4,250 metres at the western end of the Deosai plains in Gilgit-Baltistan, one of the highest lakes in the world. It can be reached from Astore through Chilum or from Skardu across Deosai. On a clear day Nanga Parbat is visible from the shore. Deosai is snowbound from November to May and covered in flowers in summer.
