Jurjurai Stupa, Swat
A Buddhist stupa of finely cut gneiss on a cliff of Mount Tor Kamar in Swat's Jambil Valley.
The structure consists of a quadrangular first storey followed by two circular levels (including a drum) and a raised dome, with stairways on the east. Built with finely cut gneiss blocks and decorated with pilasters, the stupa shows excellent masonry and was likely part of a once larger complex, though no monastic remains are visible now. Sections of the base, walls and part of the upper dome survive. A gneiss chattravali disc (umbrella) likely from the stupa was also found nearby. Its design and structure closely resemble those of the Loebanr stupa in form and proportions.
