The Taj Building stands on the main Grand Trunk Road in Nowshera, built in the 1920s by Khan Bahadur Taj Muhammad Khan of Badrashi village. Its three-storey facade is covered in intricate stucco of flowers and vines, with sweeping round arches and many decorated columns in a blend of Roman, Gothic and oriental styles. An arched gateway with jharoka balconies leads into the compound, and carved wooden balconies line the back.
