Tomb of Shah Shams Tabriz
The shrine of Shah Shams Tabrez in Multan: a three-storey brick tomb, 24 metres high, turning from square to octagon beneath its dome.
This is the shrine of the saint known in Multan as Shah Shams Tabrez. The tomb is square in plan, 10.6 metres a side, and rises in three storeys to a height of 24.3 metres. A closed verandah 2.4 metres wide runs round it. Squinches carry the octagonal second storey on the square below. Outside, the walls are divided into small, slightly recessed oblong panels framed with flat brick borders.

History
The saint known in Multan as Shah Shams Tabrez is not the same person as Shams-i Tabrizi, Rumi's companion. The register dates the tomb to the Sultanate period (1206–1526), and the shrine is still a busy place of pilgrimage.
