Makran Coast & Hingol

Empty beaches, mud volcanoes, and desert badlands — six days on the Makran coast, the strangest and least-visited landscape in the country. The spine of the journey is Hingol National Park: the sphinx-like rock formations and the Princess of Hope, the mud volcanoes that bubble quietly out of the desert floor (among them Chandragup, sacred to Hindu pilgrims), and the beach at Kund Malir where the desert simply walks into the Arabian Sea. Long coastal drives on the Makran Coastal Highway are part of the point — this is road-movie country. Nights use the GreenPak coastal houses at Sonmiani and Gadani plus the best available stops en route. Your planner confirms the exact running order with you; out here, tides, heat, and light set the schedule. Best from October to March.

Trip overview

This is our most-loved introduction to the north. You'll trek the gentle trail into Fairy Meadows for sunrise on Nanga Parbat, then follow the Karakoram Highway to Hunza for Baltit Fort, Attabad Lake, and the road to the Khunjerab Pass.

Small group, private transport, and time built in to slow down, with local guides who grew up in these valleys.
