Paye Meadows
A high grassy ridge above Shogran with wide views toward Makra and the Kaghan mountains, reached beyond Siri Lake on a rugged jeep track.
Paye is the upper meadow and ridge destination above Shogran. Its rolling grassland, seasonal flowers, grazing ground, and long mountain views make it the main goal of the excursion commonly marketed as “Siri Paye.” Siri Lake is a separate stop lower on the route and should not share Paye's coordinate.
Why go
- ✦High alpine meadow
- ✦Views toward Makra and nearby ranges
- ✦Separate identity from Siri Lake
- ✦Jeep excursion or mountain walk from Shogran
The Meadow Has Its Own Pin
Paye is farther and higher than Siri Lake. Separating the two prevents search from sending visitors to the lower pond when they are looking for the open ridge and prevents one photograph from being reused for both places.
Altitude Changes the Day
The exposed meadow can be cold, windy, foggy, or stormy even when Shogran is mild. Carry a warm layer, water, sun protection, and footwear suitable for wet ground.
Makra Is a Separate Mountain Objective
Paye may be used as a starting area for Makra Peak, but the summit is not a casual extension of the meadow visit. It requires suitable weather, mountain experience, navigation, equipment, and local guidance.
Planning tip
When to go, Late spring to early autumn for green meadows and a passable upper track. Snow, rain, cloud, and wind can change conditions quickly.
Getting there, Continue beyond Siri Lake from Shogran on the rugged mountain track using a suitable local jeep, or hike with local route knowledge and enough daylight for the return.
Allow, Allow a half day from Shogran, and a full day if walking substantial sections or continuing toward a longer ridge route.
