Tomb of Ali Mardan Khan

The tomb of Ali Mardan Khan, a 1630s Mughal tomb in Lahore with a 13 m dome.

GPGreenPak Field GuidesSourced from Green Tourism Pakistan · 2 min read

This octagonal Mughal tomb in Lahore was built in the 1630s for Ali Mardan Khan, a Kurdish noble who served the Safavids and then the Mughals, governing Kashmir, Lahore, Kabul and the Punjab and building canals. Locals regard it as a shrine. The tomb is now semi-ruined and has lost its decoration, but its brick dome, 13 metres across, still stands.
