Bloody Bastion (Khooni Burj), Multan
Khooni Burj, the Bloody Bastion on Multan's old city wall between Pak Gate and Delhi Gate, linked by tradition with Alexander's wound.
The Bloody Bastion — Khooni Burj — is a surviving tower of Multan's old city wall, between Pak Gate and Delhi Gate on Alang Road. It is one of the few remnants of the fortifications the British destroyed in 1849.

History
Tradition holds that Alexander the Great was wounded near here during his campaign in the Indus valley. Two British envoys murdered in 1848 were buried at the bastion, and in the Siege of Multan in 1849 it saw fierce fighting between Sikh forces and the 1st Bombay Fusiliers, which earned it its name. The envoys were later reburied at Multan Fort.
