Sheesh Mahal, Lahore Fort
Sheesh Mahal, the 'Palace of Mirrors' of 1631–32 in Lahore Fort's Shah Burj, inlaid with mirror work and pietra dura.
The Sheesh Mahal, the 'Palace of Mirrors', stands in the Shah Burj block at the north-western corner of Lahore Fort. Shah Jahan built it in 1631–32, and Ranjit Singh added to it later. Its white marble walls and ceilings are inlaid with pietra dura and fine mirror work, and the hall was kept for the imperial family and their closest courtiers. It is part of the Lahore Fort UNESCO World Heritage Site.
