Shri Laxmi Narayan Mandir is a Hindu temple about two hundred years old, one of the oldest still in worship in Karachi and the only one on the banks of Chinna Creek. It stands beneath the landmark Native Jetty Bridge, facing the sea, which is central to many of its rituals. The temple is devoted to the goddess Lakshmi and to Vishnu, with images of Hanuman and Sai Baba of Shirdi too. At the end of Navratri and Ganesh Chaturthi, images of Durga and Ganesh are carried down to the water, and Holi and Raksha Bandhan are celebrated here as well.
