Two of the great valleys of the Karakoram in a single eight-day arc. The journey opens in Gilgit and climbs into Hunza — orchard terraces, the old watchtowers of Karimabad, and Rakaposhi standing over everything. Mid-week the road turns east to Skardu, a different world of sand, lakes, and wide riverine light, with a day for Shigar's fort-town and another for the Deosai plateau or Satpara lake, depending on season and weather. A free day in Skardu leaves room for the valley to do what it does best: slow you down. Eight days, seven nights, travelling by private vehicle with a GreenPak guide throughout, staying in GreenPak houses in both valleys. The pace is measured — this is a journey for seeing Hunza and Skardu properly, not for collecting them.

This is our most-loved introduction to the north. You'll trek the gentle trail into Fairy Meadows for sunrise on Nanga Parbat, then follow the Karakoram Highway to Hunza for Baltit Fort, Attabad Lake, and the road to the Khunjerab Pass.
