Taj Mughal Minar
A 700-year-old tower on the ridge above Gilgit, built by Taj-ud-Din Mughal in the 1320s.
Taj Mughal Minar, known locally as Mughali Shikar, is a tower of about 20–25 ft on the mountain south of Khomar and Jutial above Gilgit. It is said to have been built by Taj-ud-Din Mughal, a ruler from Badakhshan, after he took Gilgit in the 1320s.

About
The Gilgit-Baltistan tourism and archaeology department has restored and protected the tower through the Gilgit Development Authority without changing its original form. It stands on a ridge with a wide view over Gilgit.
How to Reach
The base of the hill is about 1 km from Gilgit city; from there a 2–3 km trail, about half an hour on foot, leads up to the tower.

Treat the site as protected heritage: do not scratch, climb or remove material, and follow caretaker instructions.
