Adventures of Fairy Meadows & Hunza
The meadow beneath Nanga Parbat first, then the road north to Hunza. From the Raikot bridge the route climbs by jeep track and a half-day walk to Fairy Meadows, where the ninth-highest mountain on Earth fills the sky above the pines. A full meadow day follows — walk towards the Beyal viewpoint, or simply sit with the mountain. Descending, the journey joins the Karakoram Highway north to Hunza: the turquoise of Attabad Lake, the lanes and forts of Karimabad, and — season permitting — a run towards the Khunjerab Pass on the Chinese border. Seven days that pair the country's most famous camp-and-meadow trek with its most beloved valley. The Fairy Meadows section involves a genuine uphill walk of two to three hours; the rest travels by private jeep and car.
