Begum Shahi Mosque, officially the Mosque of Mariam Zamani Begum, stands inside the Walled City of Lahore near Masti Gate. It was commissioned by Mariam-uz-Zamani, Akbar's chief consort and Jahangir's mother, and built between 1611 and 1614. It is Lahore's earliest dated Mughal mosque and is known for its fresco decoration of geometric and floral designs painted on stucco.
