Data Darbar, built around the tomb of the 11th-century Sufi saint Ali Hujwiri (Data Ganj Bakhsh), is the largest Sufi shrine in South Asia and one of the most visited religious sites in Lahore. Its vast marble courtyard and towering minarets host round-the-clock devotion, communal langar meals, and an annual urs that draws enormous crowds from across the country.

Ali Hujwiri and the Shrine
Ali Hujwiri, known popularly as Data Ganj Bakhsh, was an 11th-century Sufi scholar whose writings on mysticism remain influential; his shrine grew over centuries into the sprawling complex seen today.
Langar and Daily Devotion
The shrine runs a continuous langar (free communal meal) alongside round-the-clock visits from devotees, making it as much a working centre of charity as a historic monument.
The Annual Urs
The shrine's annual urs commemorating the saint's death draws vast crowds from across Pakistan and beyond, with qawwali, processions, and an atmosphere unlike any other single day at the site.
